Ministry Update: USA

Howdy, Hola, Akkam, Swasdika - the many ways I have learned how to greet people over the past year. I wanted to keep everyone updated with my journey and with fundraising. I also want everyone to know that I am still writing!! I know it seems I have been less than active on this blog, but the reality is that this season has been a huge breath of fresh air and I have enjoyed taking some time to spend solely with me and the father. 

That being said I want to shoot out an update with the current situation of this fall. Because of the COVID-19 virus we are going forward with the contingency plan to stay in Georgia for the first 3 months then the squad is planning to launch in January 2020. However since I am only team leading for 3 months, I will be in Gainesville, GA for my entire time as an Alumni Team Leader.

What does this mean for me? 

Mostly nothing. When I gave my 'yes' to team lead, I was giving my 'yes' to lead, and disciple, and love the girls on my team. Not to go overseas to a specific country, but I gave my 'yes' no matter what the circumstances would look like. So with that I am continuing my role as part of the leadership for Gap D and in fact we recently got assigned our teams (eeek). Despite Covid turning so many things upside down I am being reminded of how to be flexible again. I am so excited for this fall and getting to lead in a different location but with the same heart. 

Logistically, right now we are going to be training and discipling intensely for the first month, then hopefully if covid recedes, we will be able to partner with local ministries in the surrounding areas. I am so expectant for the ways the Lord is going to move in Georgia.

I am also still fundraising. I have raised about 1,000$ through donations and selling T-shirts, but am still short 1,000$. In august I am cooking up a fundraiser to tell lots of stories from my race and to share my heart more, I can't wait to include you in that, so keep on the lookout. 

Please be praying for me and my team, be praying for financial blessings, and for the virus to recede as well as for fear to not have a hold on this country or its people.
