If you are still sticking around, here is the short story long:

Let the Nations Be Glad

Rachel washes the feet of a local Oromia woman in Harbor Chulule, Ethiopia (January 2020).

This is the village we lived in for 3 months while I was doing ministry with Adventures in Missions. This was from a women’s event we held for House Moms.

AFM (Africa Freedom Mission) is a ministry based in Georgia that sends young people to minister to communities and people in Zambia and other places in Africa. I first heard about the ministry a few years back when I was still doing vocational ministry with Adventures in Missions. Most of their trips are short term which peaked my interest knowing I was going back to school and would only have short term times off. In praying about partnering with them this Christmas break and in doing missions in college I felt like the Lord gave me full permission to say yes to all the opportunites to “go.” As this is a season of minimal responsibility (no husband, no kids, designated breaks) - I am all too aware of the demands of life post grad and how I will likely not have breaks cut out for me throughout the year, so with that, I am saying yes to continuing to partner with what the Lord is doing in the Nations.

It feels a little bit like the Lord keeps connecting me to the ultimate desires of my heart admist this season of counting the cost. As if he is continually giving me vision for my life in small little encouragements even when the majority of my time is currently in school with my eyes glued to flashcards. He is simply that good.

So with that I am reaching out to new and past supporters. In the same way that the Lord has uniquely positioned me to be able to “go” with little strings attached, perhaps he has uniquely positioned you with the stability to “send.” I believe when we are faithful with the little he is faithful with the much. No amount is too little; give generously with what the Lord has blessed you with whether that be $5 or $500. Believe in faith he can multiply it.

If you want to see more of my heart for ministry and the history of Gods faithfulness in my life, read back on any of the multitude of blogs on this website and you will be sure to find a testimony of encouragement.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or prayers - all are deeply needed.

Join me in praying for: the people of Zambia and my team, radical financial provision in these next 10 days, and that the spirit of the Lord would go before us.

If you cannot give then please share with 1 or 2 people of God you know would want to be connected to sending people to the nations.

I leave you with a prayer from one of my community leaders, Kevin, that has been deeply touching my heart as of late -

“We are so deeply in need of Jesus’ ease and light. Let us pray to Almighty God out of our work and out of our rest, and let us mean it. And may the Lord govern more of us today than yesterday, more of us tomorrow again. And may our testimonies be as full of His Peace as of His cedar-shattering Glory. Amen and Selah. The Shepherd tends us well.” -K. Still

Shalom,

Ellie Miller
